After a lovely send off Wednesday at the Kronau curling club with family and friends in attendance, it was apparent that the journey to Edmonton and the Roar of the Rings has been a long one, four years to be exact. The weather in Calgary made it even longer yesterday!
We finally arrived in Edmonton just in time for the sponsors reception and banquet and it was great to see everyone. Little did we know that the end of the banquet would not be the end of our evening...after a fire evacuation of our floor of the hotel, (still not sure why we were the only team affected by this evacuation) a run in with the firemen in the stairwell (this part was enjoyable) and a fashion statement of pyjamas and winter boots in the lobby (not so enjoyable) we retired to our rooms once all was cleared by the aforementioned firemen.
After last evening's excitement, we had a great practice this morning and are looking forward to the opening of the Patch this evening as well as the opening ceremonies and theh opening draw Sunday. Watch us on TSN as we are the featured game at 2:00pm this Sunday (Saskatchewan time).
