Great start today against team Ontario, we played really well … for almost 10 whole ends!  I know you are all thinking we still seem a little cautious about the idea of peaking too soon, but don’t worry it is coming!  Today was the day a whole pile of school kids came from the Soo, so there were a lot of Team Ontario Supporters.   We really thought that our fans might be outdone today (after all they closed down the HeartStop Lounge last night and they were not looking too good today .. especially you, dad) but they were louder than ever, which I am sure was not good for their hangovers - please know we appreciate your sacrifice.
We had our autograph session this afternoon at the HeartStop Lounge, it was great to visit with some new fans and our families.  Then we were back to the hotel for some rest before the evening game.
The game vs. MB was a tough one for sure.  We had some opportunities, but just couldn’t quite make things happen.  Like true Saskatchewanians we battled back with 5 points in the last 3 ends to take it to the extra end – not great for Super 5th who was already doing the pee dance at the beginning of the 10th end.  We came up a little short tonight, but we are feeling more confident with the ice and we know we are so close to putting it all together.
After a tough game we thought to ourselves, "What would Lee Jones do?" so we headed over to the HeartStop Lounge for a couple of drinks.  The lounge is not attached to the rink so it is a bit of a drive to get there but it was worth the trip.  I realized tonight in the HeatStop that apparently ordering a drink “pressed” is not common here, so super 5th gave a free lesson to a couple of bartenders … we don’t need a repeat of Prince George where I clearly was not feeling well after drinking way too much pop in my rye.

Thanks to everyone who sent messages over the last couple of days … especially my sister Rene – you rock.  And a special shout out to Mopper, thanks for the one-liner, keep em coming my friend!

Stay tuned for more on the logo tomorrow … sorry if this is keeping you up at night Donna, but a 5th player needs some time for drinking, it can’t be all work & no play.
